2011 Spring Membership Meeting News

We want to thank the members that attended our 2011 Spring Conference in Norfolk. We had over 150 participants this year; it was a truly successful conference. We want to thank our Board of Directors, Conference Coordinator - Paul Harper for his hard work, our committees, speakers, volunteers, and sponsors.

Also, we want to express a sincere heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the following outgoing board of directors for their dedicated service to VAHC:
President - Shernita Bethea for her outstanding leadership and tireless efforts to the VAHC. She did an extraordinary job in leading VAHC over the last four years.

NEWLY ELECTED BOARD MEMBERS

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS

Effective January 1, 2012, the membership body approved increasing the required CEU’s from 12 to 16 to maintain VAHC certification levels. Eight of the CEU’s must be obtained through VAHC trainings and conferences. The remaining eight CEU’s can be from external (outside of VAHC) trainings.

CERTIFICATION

The Fall 2011 conference will be the last opportunity for members to complete the recertification update session for those who were grandfathered by the federation or received their Certified Housing Counselor Designation prior to May 2009. MEMBERSHIP INVOLVEMENT

Your membership contributes to the strength of our organization. We want to hear from you. Send us your ideas and suggestions ton how to make this organization more effective to serve you.
